Research Interests


Venkatraman’s research interest focuses on understanding the influence of solvation on a myriad of chemical and biological processes. To address this, he utilizes his expertise on ultrafast spectroscopy of complementary techniques and computational chemistry:

    • Femtosecond time-resolved electronic and vibrational absorption spectroscopy
    • Two-dimensional infrared spectroscopy (pulse shaper)
    • Nanosecond time-resolved resonance Raman and electronic absorption spectroscopy
    • Steady state UV-vis, Fluorescence, IR and Raman spectroscopy
    • Density functional theoretical calculations
    • Molecular dynamics and simulations
